Hiking
The Donk Lake in Berlare is one of the oldest touristic attractions in Berlare, thanks to the diligent work of local peat cutters, without whom this lake would have never existed. We follow their tracks through the breeck of Berlare, a natural gem next to a forgotten meander from thousands of years ago.
Cycling
Our tip for a bike ride through the beatiful wet nature of the Kalkense Meersen Donkmeer is the Kingfisher route. The cycling loop leads you to the most beautiful places in this area. Along the water there are many taverns where you can stop for a refreshing drink or a bite.
