Just past the new pedestrian and cyclist bridge in Wetteren you will quickly discover a special natural area during this 10,8 km hike.

Drifting Dune Route

This 41,5 km loop starts in the centre of Wetteren and leads you to the most beautiful parts of nature nearby. We cycle along the train tracks to the ferry in Schellebelle, around the Donkmeer in Berlare and cross the Kalkense Meersen.

Attractions

The eclectic church in Wetteren, built in red bricks with white framing, was built in 1866. Besides the many treasures in the old church, many remarkable paintings, stained-glass windows and a polychrome high altar are housed here. A beautiful piece of Scheldt gothic!
