schntzl on the Water
The Belgian duo schntzl presents their new album Fata Morgana in a setting that feels as illusory as the music itself: musicians floating on a raft between water and sky, with the audience drifting around them, immersed in the sound.
Welcome to STROOM!
STROOM is celebrating its fifth edition this year—our first milestone anniversary!
We are marking the occasion not with fireworks and cream cake, but with the rich and inspiring programme you have come to expect from us, placing sustainability, nature, water, and the beautiful Scheldt Valley National Park at its heart. This year’s festival features several world premieres, classical and contemporary music, poetry and architecture, concerts, walks, and rituals.
This year, Jeroen Olyslaegers joins us as our Festival Thinker. His boundless creativity runs like a thread throughout the programme. We are also delighted to welcome the world of science to STROOM through a first collaboration with the University of Antwerp.
STROOM is firmly on course and has exciting plans for the future. We warmly thank all our partners who, together with us and the Scheldt Valley National Park, help make this festival such a celebration. We invite everyone to be part of it.
Why not make a weekend of it? Alongside the music, discover walking and cycling routes, boating opportunities, heritage sites, museums, and local culinary specialities.
The entire STROOM team is ready to welcome you.

Welcome in Wetteren!
As Mayor of Wetteren, I am particularly proud that our beautiful municipality is once again part of STROOM this year. This festival brings together music, nature, and heritage in a truly unique way. Just as Wetteren itself does. Along the banks of the Scheldt, our lifeline, our asset, and our source of inspiration, everything comes together: tranquility and dynamism, history and future.
For centuries, the Scheldt has shaped the character of Wetteren. Today, it provides the backdrop for encounters, wonder, and culture. The fact that music resonates in such remarkable locations right here in our Scheldt Valley fills me with pride.
STROOM showcases the richness of our municipality’s nature, heritage, and hospitality. I warmly invite all residents of Wetteren, as well as visitors from near and far, to experience this festival and feel the flow of Wetteren for themselves.
A very warm welcome.

schntzl and Fata Morgana
Hendrik Lasure and Casper Van De Velde create live electronic music that is at once playful and confrontational, intimate and overwhelming. They move between trance and dada, between kitsch and disruption, between improvisation and explosion.
With Fata Morgana, they open up a universe of mirages: sounds emerge, transform, and dissolve. What begins as a melody grows into a sonic wave; what first sounds euphoric suddenly reveals a sharper edge. It is a whirlwind of energy and imagination that gains an extra dimension on the water. Sound glides across the surface, rhythms echo back, and electronics dissolve into the evening air. Their music is intensely visual as if you were listening to a dream that is constantly rewriting itself.
