Just past the new pedestrian and cyclist bridge in Wetteren you will quickly discover a special natural area during this 10,8 km hike.
Cycling
Nothing beats the feeling of the wind in your hair during a bike ride along the Scheldt. By following the junctions of the cycling route below, you’ll be guided from Donkmeer through the forests of Berlare Broek, past the grasslands of the Kalkense Meersen, and into the vibrant heart of Wetteren.
Attractions
The eclectic church in Wetteren, built in red bricks with white framing, was built in 1866. Besides the many treasures in the old church, many remarkable paintings, stained-glass windows and a polychrome high altar are housed here. A beautiful piece of Scheldt gothic!
