Anaïs Vijgen is a jazz vocalist and composer who moves audiences with her clear voice, evocative lyrics, and natural interaction with the public. Haroun Iqbal is a versatile guitarist with a broad musical horizon: alongside jazz, he draws inspiration from African and Indian music, giving his playing a distinctive color.
Together, they form a duo in which original compositions, chansons, and jazz standards come together. With careful attention to nuance and dynamics, they create a personal and warm sound. In dialogue with each other and with the audience, they present a program that resonates with the intimacy of the riverside concerts: up close, pure, and carried by the surroundings.

A climate story
In the Scheldt, both visible and invisible yet persistent pollutants drift along with the current: plastic particles of all sizes. These particles make their way into the water and travel upstream from the Port of Antwerp all the way to Ghent. Researchers from the University of Antwerp are closely monitoring this phenomenon. With multiple measurement locations along the river, they map the presence and distribution of plastics.
Visitors will have the opportunity to take a closer look at these measurements before or after the concert and to search for plastics in a sample themselves. There, they can see with their own eyes how much plastic continuously circulates in the water. Researchers from the University of Antwerp will provide further insight into the impact of this pollution on the Scheldt’s ecosystem.
