Following the success of the previous two years, our CO2-neutral ship, De Vrijbuiter, will once again be charting its green and creative course along the meanders of the Scheldt, Dender, and Rupel. From 27 June to 6 July, it will dock in various municipalities for a charming riverside concert, free to enjoy from the bank.
De Vrijbuiter is a sailing ship that is more than a hundred years old, equipped with solar panels, a wind turbine, and an electric motor powered by salt batteries. This year, the captain has once again curated a thoughtful selection of exceptional artists from various genres on board: from spoken word to folk and opera. All hands on deck for beautiful music in idyllic locations by the water!
Joris Vanvinckenroye constructs a rich soundscape with his double bass, filled with rhythm and emotion. Jana Arns, climate and town poet, adds poetry about relationships, nature, and balance. Together, they bring an intimate dialogue between sound and word to the banks of the Scheldt!
