  • Gustav Mahler – Symphony no. 4 in G Major (arr. John Warner)

During this concert, the Orchestra for the Earth will perform a remarkable programme. Under the baton of conductor John Warner, a carefully curated repertoire will be presented, featuring works by Schönberg and Schumann, and as the cherry on the cake: a unique arrangement of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 4, specially adapted for chamber orchestra.

In this symphony, Mahler reveals his most poetic side. The final movement, Das himmlische Leben, is based on a text from Des Knaben Wunderhorn and paints a tender, childlike vision of heaven. During this concert, we are fortunate enough to experience those celestial sounds here on earth.

The solo part will be performed by the Mexican mezzo-soprano Gloria Mojica, whose voice adds a paradisiacal dimension to an already magical evening.

Orchestra for the Earth

To reinforce their message, they do not fly but take the train from London to Dendermonde. They are therefore a perfect ensemble for STROOM
