IMPORTANT NOTICE: Water Ripples (19 June) Cancelled
Due to the forecasted thunderstorms and severe weather conditions, the emergency services of the city of Antwerp have advised that tonight’s concert should not take place. In consultation with Zomer van Antwerpen we have decided to follow this advice.
The safety of our audience is our top priority.
Good news: Water Ripples will be performed tomorrow, Saturday, 20.06, at Gerlachekaai at 21:30. We look forward to welcoming you then for an unforgettable evening by the water.
Thank you for your understanding. See you tomorrow!

Science
The microbiome on your hand? The University of Antwerp is doing the test!
Did you know that millions of microbes live on your hands? This invisible world of bacteria and micro-organisms might sound a bit unsettling, but it’s actually beneficial for your health.
During the Water Ripples concert, you’ll get a unique chance to discover this for yourself. Together with researchers from the University of Antwerp, you’ll dive into the science behind your own hands. How many bacteria are you actually carrying around?
Everyone is welcome to visit the stand to explore the microbiome through microscopes. Only those with a winning scratch card can have a sample taken. A few days after the concert, you’ll receive a visually colorful result showing everything that lives on your hands.
The University of Antwerp stand will be there when the doors open. You can have a sample taken from your hands, up until just before the concert.
